Natalie is originally from Burlington, Vermont, but fell in love with Newport’s coastal community a decade ago after meeting her now-husband, a Newport native. In 2019, they returned to Newport full time and spent lockdown immersed in the outdoors, surfing, paddleboarding, and sketching on the beach each day. With a background in design and branding, Natalie began to see those sketches evolve into something more: a brand of their own. In the winter of 2024, that vision became Sunwray. Today, Natalie designs every Sunwray product and handcrafts many of them herself. When she’s not at the shop, you can usually find her running along the Cliff Walk, sketching at the beach, taking an afternoon swim, or walking her two pugs through town.
